hari ini tiba tiba rajin nak baca essay zaman zaman belajar dulu..
and suddenly 'on the other hand' words was crossed on my mind..should call it words or sentence ya?
dulu dulu masa kat sekolah, cikgu selalu cakap, kalau guna 'on the other hand, however, furthermore" nanti essay kita makin mantap..makin suka penanda nak baca and so on..
and I did used it in my undergraduates study..
dan entah kenapa aku suka sangat guna word 'on the other hand' ni..
kebetulan lecturer aku foreigner , she's from Aussie (maybe?).. not so sure..
tapi apa yang aku pasti komen yang diberikan on my essay itu sangatlah terkesan..
example:
on the other hand, bla bla bla bla..thus..it can bla bla bla.. and so on...
(after a few paragraph i still used the word 'on the other hand'-maybe 2 or 3 times in one essay)
then, dia bulatkan besar besar dekat 'on the other hand' tu..and this is what she wrote:
"how many hands do you have?are u a hindu God with so many hands?" (sila baca dengan intonasi yang garang)
OOO HHH MYYY ENGLISH!
how on earth she supposed to said like that?it even worse when she used the word "Hindu God" there..
#takde sensitivity langsung..nasib baik aku bukan Hindu..
ok..mula2 memang bengang jugak..sebab ini apa yang cikgu2 aku ajar masa sekolah dulu.
tapi bila pikir2 balik, dalam sains punya essay, you shouldnt use the transitions or coherence too frequent..
and when i try to check in the science journal, yes!its been proven! tak payah nak berbunga bunga sangat la bahasa nak buat essay ok?
aku terlupa aku amek bidang sains masa belajar dulu..but after all it still an english kan?tak salah kalau nak berbunga2 sikit ayatnya..bak kata cikgu aku. gembira si penanda tu nanti nak tanda kertas.. (tapi untuk case ni, aku sure lecturer aku rasa macam nak koyak2kan jek essay aku tu..huh!)
notabuku: luckily it happened in my first year..kalau tak sampai third year pun lab report aku berbunga bunga..huh!
